Chips versus cholesterol
Chips and red wine have always been my favourite pairing. This combination conjures up a fluffy white rug in front of a crackling open fire on a cold winter’s night. I watch a lot of movies. The best I can muster is a short-haired throw in front of the YouTube open fire on my TV screen. It crackles somewhat and when I turn on the heater above the screen; it sort of works. Unfortunately, my cardiologist doesn’t see my vision. Your cholesterol is high, 6.3. So, I’d suggest you cut back on saturated fats and limit yourself to two drinks a week.
My warm, comforting visual blew up into tiny shards of despair. Why did he have to specify two drinks a week? Now that number haunts me every time I think of cocktail hour. It would be easier to sleep through five days a week and have two drink nights. If I abused my privileges in my earlier years, I’d understand, but now I’m being reprimanded for being careful. I think I’ll invest in an air fryer but I’m loathe to convert to zero alcohol red wine. Tried it once, and it tasted like diluted vinegar. I can only do so much.
